SUMMARY:

Sr. Staff Accountants are responsible for providing timely and accurate information about the financial performance of our funds. In addition, they review and approve staff accountant entries to assigned activities. Sr. Staff Accountants display ownership of their funds by taking responsibility for all fund-related transactions and ensuring their accuracy and understanding their effect on the fund’s performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly close entries, as well as ad hoc entries related to monthly close
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and variance analysis for Income Funds
  • Preparation of the account schedules that support the quarterly close packages
  • Investigate and resolve unusual items and discrepancies in general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in the preparation of the10-K, 10-Q and Annual Reports
  • Serve as an audit liaison during audits and ensure the timely response to auditor requests
  • Prepare equipment funding journal entries and ensure all fundings are completed accurately and in a timely manner, and ensure all leases are properly classified as operating or finance leases upon funding
  • Training of Accounting Staff as necessary
  • Review and Approval of entries related to assigned activities
  • Ad hoc projects and assignments as needed

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting
  • 5-8 years’ experience in corporate accounting, audit, with experience in lease accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting, and General Accepted Accounting Principals
  • Knowledge of SEC filing procedures and forms
  • Knowledge of the Great Plains software package, or experience with a comparable accounting software package.
  • Ability to lead others, multi-task, be flexible, and set priorities to meet strict deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus
  • Salary commensurate with experience
