QA Paint Inspector Job at Tradesmen International, Inc.
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced QA Paint Inspectors for projects located in and around San Diego, CA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $24/hour based on experience & skill level. Job Scope:
- Perform inspections & other quality assurance functions required to substantiate conformance to shipbuilding & repair drawings, specifications, & contract requirements
- Conduct audit surveillance drafts, reports, reviews, technical documentation, & other quality related administrative tasks in all phased & staged of ship construction and/or repair
- Maintain internal contacts with purchasing, warehousing, safety production, & engineering
- Perform basic inspection of shipbuilding & ship repair work in accordance with established policies to ensure compliance with technical requirements
- Ensure correct materials & proper fabrications & installation procedures are utilized during production processes
- Evaluate results from tests & inspects to determine acceptability with assistance as needed
- Research technical documents including engineering drawings, specifications, starts, test procedures, work instructions, NAVSEA standard items, & contract requirements
- Utilize calibrated equipment; validate calibration of equipment, gauges, & tools used in production & inspection in accordance with established policies
- Recognize & document non-conformances per company policy
- Perform process audits & surveillances
- Draft, review, and/or submit QA reports & technical documents
- Actively participate in implementing & monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, reduce cycle time, & reduce costs
- Bring complex issues to attention of supervisor
- Perform other quality assurance tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Some Quality Assurance or related experience
- 11 panel drug screen
- Background check
- OSHA 10 Maritime & Firewatch Certification
- HS Education or Equivalent
- Additional technical education or college education a plus
- Knowledge of shipbuilding & repair operations a plus
- Ability to develop technical knowledge of ship construction & repair processes including welding, structural machinery, electrical piping, ventilation, flushing, & develop familiarity with various measuring instruments related to inspections
- Computer literate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, & IFS Quality Modules is a plus
