POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring successful operation of the Quality Assurance Team and maintain processes and procedures. Responsible for providing direction, mentoring and growth of the staff in the quality control and assurance disciplines and for assuring the application and use of the Corporate and IT Quality Assurance Methodology on all projects. Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This role directly manages 8 - 15 workers
  • This role reports to this job: DIRECTOR, IT QUALITY ASSURANCE
  • Necessary Contacts:In order to effectively fulfill this position the incumbent must be in contact with the all levels of management and staff, vendors, inter-company personnel to determine user needs; divisional personnel to discuss status of projects; and professional groups.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Computer Science or related field. Completion of an approved educational program or four years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree required

Work Experience

  • 5 years Demonstrated capacity to successfully lead and direct a team of quality assurance professionals.
  • 2 years Experience with automation a plus. UFT or Selenium preferred
  • 2 years of leadership experience required
  • Experience may run concurrently

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to create and deliver presentations to organization management including Senior Management are required. Must have demonstrated ability to effectively lead, counsel and motivate personnel while encouraging a team-oriented, high-morale work environment with high personal accountability.
  • Ability to demonstrate presentation and facilitation skills working with key stakeholders and management including executive management required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to review and evaluate staff performance with analyzing business information and process flows, gathering relevant requirements and generating functional specifications needed for application programming and test strategy development.
  • Strong understanding of industry standard quality assurance and testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Ability to allocate resources to work based upon priorities and resource skill level, and capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to work with their peers across the team and the organization to build relationships

Must have demonstrated ability in working independently in helping shape enterprise wide policies

Must have demonstrated ability making decisions that require significant use of extensive technical, functional, leadership, and managerial skills to maximize benefits, while minimizing impacts on all external/internal information systems and headquarters/field personnel.

ANALYTICAL & CREATIVE:

Must have experience identifying, defining, quantifying and solving significant highly complex, technical and management issues on a regular basis. Must have experience using creativity/innovative approaches to resolve issues despite minimum lead times and with minimum requirement definition.

Must have experience correlating requirements and information from multiple sources, anticipating both current and future processing and management information needs, analyzing their potential impacts, and creating new technical solutions for these needs.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Quality Management related certification is preferred and QA certification is required within 1 year of employment

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directs IT staff, promotes career development opportunities, provides mentoring to the staff to encourage personal growth and advancement, and promotes delivery of high quality customer service and team productivity.
  • Develops, manages, and builds strong relationships and/or partnerships with clients, vendors, peers/other teams, and staff to ensure a high level of personal and team understanding of the client’s business operations, IT support needs, and IT Quality Assurance service expectations.
  • Provides progress reports on key IT Quality Assurance milestones, project issues and risk to senior management level committees.
  • Responsible for the planning, management, and protection of IT Quality Assurance financial resources accomplished by approaching work with a focus on cost efficiencies that provide tangible cost savings and improved IT Quality Assurance productivity through fundamentally sound implementation of systems solutions.
  • Understands IT Departmental Goals and Objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals.
  • Gather and communicate relevant Quality Assurance metrics and information, and provide periodic status reports on testing efforts.
  • Coach staff on how to implement more effective and efficient test strategies and test practices to ensure a high quality product is delivered, with risk well defined and mitigated.
  • Help define, implement, and maintain quality assurance methodologies and processes that are in line with the larger quality assurance organization.
