Manufacturing Manager- Automotive
Location: Necedah, WI area
Salary: $70,000- $75,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the entire Value Stream of their respective Unit and subsequent shift(s)
- Supports the Plant Manager and Staff, Supervisors, and direct hourly reports in achieving the objectives of the Unit to assure safe achievement of producing quality product to the production priorities per the SAP dispatch schedule.
- Provides leadership to the Unit while promoting safe work practices and quality product at the source of production to achieve plant KPI’s
- Ensures 5S practices are followed and does corrective action and communication of issues identified in 5S audits to improve housekeeping practices.
- Ensures the training of new employees utilizing qualified trainers to instruct on the safe operation of machinery, quality systems, product requirements, and proper set up practices to assure good first and last piece production and to determine job classification status and job performance.
- Is a key leadership role to ensure compliance to IATF 16949:2016 quality systems.
- Identifies and takes corrective action on production and/or tooling problems to provide leadership and direction. Shuts down the process if nonconforming product is identified until the issue is corrected.
- Supports Quality Department in the disposition of MRBs and takes action to prevent future issues.
- Initiates Tooling and Maintenance Work Orders as needed to correct tooling and equipment issues, coordinates and provides information to Engineering and Maintenance as applicable to aid in the problem-solving process.
- Facilitates continuous improvement through daily communication with associates at all work centers and through regular department meetings.
- Assist operators in ensuring appropriate supplies, tools and equipment are available for the efficient operation of the unit.
- Communicates work schedules and adjusts as needed at the direction of the Application Center Manager or designate.
Qualifications
- Lean Green Belt Certification required within two years of start date
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years prior Supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
- Associates or Bachelor Degree is a plus
- Proficient Computer Skills (Windows, MS Office, Word, Excel)
- Basic mathematics with number manipulation, weights and measures, basic statistics
- Ability to effectively lead and direct others (sound communication and problem-solving skills)
- Sound understanding of manufacturing ERP systems
- SAP experience is a plus
- Ability to analyze scrap reports, labor reports, manufacturing priority dispatch
- Must be able to use measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers and scales
- Basic blueprint reading with regards to gaskets
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 quality standards and quality systems
- Automotive Industry experience is preferred
