Summary

This position is for a traveling trackside support technician for our NASCAR/ARCA program for the 2023 racing season. The individual is required to support our customers while at the race track. The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment, be highly motivated and is expected to represent Ilmor in the most professional way possible, supporting and delivering a world-class customer experience. The individual is required to have a technical understanding of Ilmor’s engines including but not limited to its operation and maintenance.

This position is based out of Mooresville, NC.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Knowledge of the racing engines, including but not limited to preparation, building, testing and maintenance.
  • Excellent customer service in responding to the customers’ needs in a timely and professional manner. Establishing & building positive customer relationships.
  • Mechanical assessment of customer engines for small repairs.
  • At the track the individual must be responsible for the correct procedures pertinent to the program, the running, fault finding, failure diagnosis and troubleshooting of issues related to our engine package.
  • Responsible for the mechanical work required to conduct minor engine repairs at the racetrack.

Education & Experience

  • Technical school degree preferred
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in a trackside support role is preferred
  • CDL preferred.

Knowledge

  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
  • Communication – Effective and robust communication with customers, Team Leader and Program Manager is essential.
  • Technical – Understand all components of the race engine, their function and detail required during at track issue diagnosis
  • Computer Skills – Basic knowledge and understanding in the use of computers is preferred.
