Wound Care Nurse - Full-time, 40 hours per week. Salaried position.

Wound Care Nurse:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on best practices to promote healing and wellness
• Track treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines
• Coordinate with supervising physicians to ensure smooth recovery processes
• Fulfill other nursing duties as required
• Providing direct and indirect patient care that includes consultations, assessment, diagnosis, education, planning and treatment of wounds, skin and ostomies
• Providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients
• Coordinating the medical care healthcare services to patients, under the supervision of a physician and concurrent with the standard of care protocols in Wound Care
• Assist in orienting, training, and evaluating staff on issues pertaining to resident care, safety, job duties and communication skill
• Identify and be responsible for self-development
• Consistently use best practice body mechanics during lifting and handling for your safety and that of residents
• Must be able to work on the floor as needed
• Performing follow-up nursing assessment of patient's condition and reports finding to Clinical Manager/RN
• Identifies patient care situations that require intervention
• Collaborates with the Physician and clinical Manager/RN to develop a Multidisciplinary Plan of Care

Wound Care Nurse Requirements and Qualifications

• BSN degree (strongly preferred)
• Current state licensure as a registered nurse (RN) or an LPN
• CPR and basic life support (BLS) certifications
• Certification and prior experience in wound care
• Prior experience in inpatient and palliative care (preferred)
