Job Summary: This position primarily involves working to support all of machining, winding and motor assembly operations with a variety of manufacturing support activities: cleaning, deburring, parts preparation, masking, steam cleaning and sand blasting.

Input Material
The material for this position consists mostly of raw parts and components, which may need to have preparatory work done. There may additionally be parts on which some work has previously been done.

Essential Functions

• Cleans parts, manually, or with steam or chemicals, prior to painting or other activities.
• Deburrs parts.
• Masks parts for painting and for sand blasting.
• Sand blasts parts for cleaning and preparation.
• Performs special cleaning processes to prepare component parts for further assembly: may use gasket removal material to do this.
• Performs functions so the job can continue on to other operations, or to inspection and painting.
• Performs other utilities as assigned by supervisor or job leader.

Physical Requirements

Job requires standing most of the day. There is some repetitive motion, such as taping, sand blasting or deburring. In general, the manual operations required are independent of each other. Since overhead cranes are available in all work areas, individual is not required to lift more than 50 pounds.

Environmental / Safety Issues

Normal exposure to coolant liquid, dust, fumes, acid based phosphate soap - limited exposure to hazardous materials. Individual should keep work area clean and free of debris and scrap materials. Follows all safety rules applicable to machines as stated on posted signs and in Company policy.

Cross Training

Cross trains on other activities and procedures, as directed by the supervisor or job leader. May work on special projects or assignments, in other areas, when requested or required.

Education / Certification

High school or trade school graduate preferred - will consider commensurate experience.

Finished Product

Ensures that finished product meets specifications and that it is moved to the next position in a timely manner.

Chain of Command

Reports to Job Leader, Machining. Ensures that supervisor is informed of all progress and problems.
