Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc, a privately held wood manufacturing company in South Londonderry, VT, is seeking an experienced Web Content Manager to join our Marketing team as we continue to rapidly grow and expand. We are a B2C direct distributor of fine post and beam buildings including storage sheds, cottages, tiny homes, garages, & woodsheds.
The Web Content Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving the functionality, content, and user experience of the company’s WordPress website and store. This role reports to the Marketing & Creative Director and will collaborate and work cross-functionally with all others on the Marketing and Creative team.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Updating and adding information and pages on the website as needed to meet goals as set by the Marketing & Creative Director.
- Align content with company branding and represent company voice and core values.
- Continuously monitor and analyze the Website, report on performance, and optimize for SEO and speed.
- Assist the team in meticulously maintaining, updating, and managing the WooCommerce shop including all product settings.
- Stay up to date on, analyze, and report on the latest trends and insights as well as relevant competition.
- Work cohesively and diligently with all team members to coordinate content for blogs, landing pages, e-mail newsletters, promotional materials, etc.
- Actively and eagerly participate in the creative process, and support strategy ideation and development as needed.
- Assist with any and all team projects as needed. This will include contributing to copywriting, blog, text, and e-mail marketing also.
- Pivot quickly to shift focus when needed on various project-based tasks.
- Maintain an accurate and complete content library to keep content organized and easily accessible for marketing needs.
- Communicate efficiently with other departments to gather and analyze data, as needed.
- Continue to evolve and grow by keeping up to date with the company, product, service, and industry information, policies, and processes.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
- 2- or 4-year related degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years experience managing web components, preferably in a WordPress environment with WooCommerce.
- Basic knowledge of SEO and application is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. Adobe CC is a plus. Relevant coding knowledge, Graphic Design skills, and experience with Elementor and Zapier are a plus.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills as well as strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to learn, adapt to, and grow from failures and constructive criticism.
- Ability to work unsupervised as well as cross-functionally with an openness to share knowledge and learn from others.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize effectively as well as have excellent project management and time-management skills to simultaneously drive on-time execution of multiple projects.
- Ability to quickly identify, address and incorporate emerging trends.
