We are currently seeking a Warehouse and Shop Assistant and those individuals who would love to learn the trade. This position can lead into a position of Garage Door Technician.

As a Warehouse Shop Assistant, this position does not require any previous industry experience. Overhead Door of Portland provides all the training, tools and resources to help you be successful! You will be trained by a supervisor and partnered with an experienced Technician during the training period. Your supervisor will train on proper use of Saws, Torches and Forklift operation. To qualify for this position, we are looking for:

· Team and Customer First attitude!

· Experience and basic competency with hand and power tools

· Able to occasionally lift and/or move 75 lbs. and work comfortably around ladders

· Basic math skills, with an ability to understand standard measurements and proper use of a tape measure.

· Forklift skills are a plus, and we will train someone with the aptitude.

On a daily basis, you can expect to find yourself:

· Organizing loads for Technicians next days work.

· Keeping Warehouse clean and organized

· Assisting with inventory cycle counts

· Loading and Unloading trucks

· Receiving loads accurately and putting the product away correctly

· Picking up parts and sections from different companies

· Asked to help in the field, or perform duties like yard clean up, clean up front of building and occasionally trimming up bushes.

· Assist with fabrication of gates and fences. Use of Jet saw to cut materials.

· Use torch to make springs for jobs.

· Assist Garage Door Techs each morning to leave shop as soon as possible

· Perform duties as requested by Warehouse Manager and Shop Foreman

You must have a Valid and insurable driver’s license for this position as you will travel throughout assigned territories. Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

The position is (Monday-Friday from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm) with Overtime sometimes required. We ensure that our team members are compensated accordingly for this extra hard work. The base hourly rate depends on experience and aptitude.
