VCA Vitality Animal Hospital located in South Salem, Oregon is looking for an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their 3.5 doctor general practice!

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. Five 8-hour shifts. Monday-Saturday, closed Sunday.

Compensation: Starting at $19 - 22 / hour. Pay dependent on experience.

South Salem is located within 1 hour of Portland, Oregon. We have tons of history in our downtown district with fun shops and boutiques. We are close to many outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, snowboarding, and surfing. For a little tranquility, check out Silver Falls, a lovely water feature with a walkway underneath.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.

Duties will include:

• Restraint for domestic and exotic animals
• Venipuncture for blood draws
• Injections for vaccines and medications
• Maintaining medical records.
• Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.
• Filling prescriptions.
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.
