The Chillicothe Mill is located in beautiful southern Ohio, a short drive south of the state capital, Columbus. Operating three paper machines, this historic mill is a cornerstone of Pixelle’s operations offering excellent opportunity to the right individual to make a difference to the operations and community.

Role

Validator 12PM works under the managerial direction of the Superintendent, 12PM. The Validator 12 PM is the gatekeeper for all work requests and prioritizes workflow to emphasize safety, quality, and productivity needs as defined in the mill’s Manufacturing Work System and Reliability processes.

Accountabilities

• Maintain good working relationships and coordinate closely with area maintenance supervision, engineering and operations areas in order to effectively review and validate work orders;
• Work with cost center managers and maintenance supervision to manage maintenance costs to plan;
• Prioritize daily maintenance workflow ensuring that the operation maximizes safety, quality and productivity;
• Organize shutdown planning by coordinating planning meetings and ZEP lockout reviews with maintenance;
• Act as 12 PM ZEP lockout coordinator. Manage, monitor and make changes to the program as needed. Manage the lock and tag out database for 12PM, ensuring accuracy and timely review;
• Coordinate equipment repair activities, monitor and report operating production rates and lost and down time;
• Ability to learn and effectively use all the systems and software necessary to complete validation work in a timely fashion;
• Facilitate and coordinate weekly scheduling meetings and daily update meetings with area supervisors;
• Review and approve routine and break-in work;
• Maintain a prioritized backlog for planning;
• Work directly with supervisors in the assigned systems areas for scheduling work, etc. Also, will work with the originators on notification quality;
• Ensure accuracy of work order components (i.e. functional location, planner group, priority, etc.);
• Ability to capture and disseminate process and reliability improvement opportunities found during the validation process;
• Must work and communicate closely with the 10 PM system Validator/Coordinator;
• Willingness to learn the paper making process; and on occasions, fill in as vacation relief supervisor;
• Willingness to hold self and peers accountable for success;

• 
  Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered in place of degree;
• Must have strong organizational skills, ability to handle deadlines and variable workloads;
• Solid maintenance aptitude and basic understanding of papermaking process flow;
• Strong troubleshooting skills;
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
