Ensures the safe transport of patients to and from all patient care areas via stretcher, wheelchair, or ambulatory process.
- Transports patients, on a daily basis, safely to and from various departments, informing nursing staff of the transport and return, with 100% accuracy of observing safety standards.
- Railing are in upright position.
- Intravenous needle remains in place.
- Monitors supply flow or oxygen as established by the attending nurse.
- Strap patient to transport.
- Receives assignments from technical personnel involved with their respective Departments.
- Upon lifting the patients, with assistance if needed, moves them to wheelchair/stretcher and transport the patient
to the assigned examination room - Travels to different patient care areas to obtain stretcher/wheelchair for use if unavailable on the floor for
scheduled patient pickup - Brings all stretchers and wheelchairs to a centralized storage location.
- Transport patients safely with 100% accuracy.
- Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for
the department and Medical Center. - Delivers medical orders, patient’s reports and preparatory information to patients care units with 100% accuracy.
- Assists in the movement of supplies within and around the department.
- Assists technologists in the transport of portable equipment.
- Assists clinical staff and technologists in the handling of patients and language interpretation, if needed.
Communicates clearly and tactfully with patients. - Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- High School education or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
