Transeo provides software solutions to schools and school districts nationwide. We are growing and we need a fun, brilliant, and motivated Technical Implementation Specialist to focus on client-facing platform integrations, specifically focusing on School/Student Information Systems.
This role is focused on onboarding new school district clients in both technical and non-technical aspects of implementation and support. You will manage the most critical aspect of the post-sales relationship, welcoming new customers and supporting their understanding and usage of our product suite.
Being a fast-growing startup, we need a “doer” who will quickly and efficiently move our current clients through their technical integrations and help us improve our implementation pipeline for future clients.
The Overview:
- Act as a project manager through the critical, post-sales phase of onboarding new school district customers.
- Guide school tech support teams through SSO setup, SIS integration, platform configuration, and other data-related requests.
- Solve hard problems, and persevere to find solutions even when hitting hurdles (don't worry you'll have folks in your corner backing you up on this front!)
- Reach out to and respond to customers over phone, email, virtual meetings, and Intercom (live chat)
- Manage escalation of support items to Technical Implementation Managers, Developers, and the CTO
- Aid the TIM in being an ‘architect' of the implementation processes by consistently documenting what works, what doesn't, what's new, etc.
The Role
The technical implementation specialist works directly with the Technical Implementation Manager (TIM) and CTO to help customers implement our suite of products. This person focuses specifically on helping school district tech specialists, information officers, and application developers understand how Transeo works with their existing infrastructure.
This role is focused on onboarding new school district clients in both technical and non-technical aspects of implementation and support. You will manage the most critical aspect of the post-sales relationship, welcoming new customers and supporting their understanding and usage of our product suite.
On a typical day, you can expect to virtually meet with clients to guide them through processes such as adding new users, managing their students, or exporting their data. This position, although technically support-based and client-facing, is classified under the engineering team.
The software that we provide schools is highly technical and configurable and is not “drop-in” like many other SaaS products. We expect this specialist to learn how our systems work (from a high level, not an engineering level) in order to consult with school tech staff on the best path forward. Additionally, our software changes frequently as we consult with customers, so an ideal candidate will need to constantly adjust your understanding of our offerings and features to hold productive conversations with customers.
This position is ideal for someone with the ambition to grow their technical experience who is also willing to learn quickly and take risks. At Transeo, we care far more about intentionality and impact than perfection and mistakes. We do not expect this role to be filled by someone with 20 years of industry experience - we want you to grow with and alongside the company.
Qualifications
- Proven and documented project management experience with the implementation of SaaS and/or relational database product implementations/integrations
- STRONGLY preferred knowledge of a variety of School Information Systems such as Powerschool, Tyler Tech, Infinite Campus, Skyward, Aeries, and others
- Understanding and application of data mapping from existing client structure to proposed application structures - Some SQL experience including writing basic queries to retrieve data and joining related tables is a major plus
- Previous work with schools and school districts would be useful.
- Previous experience in a technology/software environment highly desired
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical folks in a way that generates both trust and confidence.
- The ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent tasks/projects, jump from task-to-task even when they're relatively unrelated, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to anticipate difficult situations and proactively plan appropriate actions.
Requirements
- A desire to use your technical support experience in a fast-paced startup
- Ability to communicate about technical topics
- Great public speaking/communication skills for working with clients
- At least 2 years of experience working with customers on technical implementations
- Ability and desire to learn quickly, retain information, and apply it at a later date.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills (we're a remote team!)
- Passionate about using technology to improve education
Preferred Technology Skills
- Experience with Student information systems/other relational databases is a major plus.
- Ability to manipulate data in Excel
- SQL knowledge
- Technical writing experience
Bonus Technology Skills
- SFTP/FTP experience
- CSV/data encoding knowledge
- JSON: API experience
