The North America Repair Center Supervisor for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the effective and efficient management of their assigned area’s resources, including all personnel (direct hourly), process equipment and materials utilized to achieve exceptional service for customers of Leica Biosystems products. The supervisor models outstanding customer service through strong communication and collaboration skills both internally and with our customers.

This position is part of the Manufacturing & Operations located in Gurnee, Illinois and will be onsite. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Schedule work assignments, breaks and lunches to ensure adequate staffing to meet production requirements

  • Assign associates to manufacturing processes based on production needs and level of experience of available

  • Maintain and adjust production schedule to guarantee on-time delivery of products to meet customer demand and to ensure execution of the Level Load process

  • Clearly communicate with Sales and Services Leaders to disseminate all relevant information

  • Lead weekly scheduling review meeting (as required)

  • Create and maintain a safe working environment through proactive observations, application of 4E

  • Ensure recognition, coordinate and execution of adjustments to the process using formally documented and approved Corrective Methods (CMs)

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • B.S. in Engineering Or equivalent work experience in related field (3+ years of related experience)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive customer-centric attitude

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement

  • Experience with installation and technical support for Leica anatomic pathology instrumentation and consumables

  • Ability to travel 10%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Ability to follow specifically defined procedures & practices, detailed instructions on new assignments/projects, and constant instructions on routine work

  • Advanced analytical aptitude

  • Advanced Electronic, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical troubleshooting and repair aptitude

  • Experience with medical devices, applications, and/or regulated environments
