Our Oakbrook Terrace, IL Corporate Office location is currently seeking an analytical and detail-oriented, full-time Staff Accountant to join our amazing team!
Staff Accountant: This position reports to the Director of Accounting at the Oak Brook Terrace, IL Corporate Headquarters location. As a Staff Accountant, you will support the Director of Accounting with general accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of general accounting experience working in a corporate environment and be able to quickly learn processes, procedures, and systems. Candidates with Building Supply and Materials industry knowledge and experience would be prioritized for interviews. This position will have exposure to all branches of the organization from accounting and treasury to operations and compliance. This position would be ideal for candidates wanting to gain experience as a general accountant that could lead to opportunities as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, and Controller. This role will primarily interact with the Director of Accounting, Controller, CFO, and CEO. Candidate will be allowed to work from home 2 days per week.
Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and may require overtime per business necessity.
Essential Functions:
- Recording Journal entries
- Month-End Closing Activities including recording allocations, accruals, and adjustments.
- Month end reconciliations and roll forwards (bank, credit card, sales tax, etc.)
- Tracking, Monitoring, and Paying Business Licenses by operating state (11 States)
- PP&E Accounting – tracking of fixed asset ledgers including acquisitions and disposals.
- Initiate remote bank deposits and G/L Coding
- Ad-hoc audit work (Sales Tax, Workers Compensation, Financial Statement)

Required experience: 0-2 years of staff accounting level experience preferred. Understanding of debits and credits and the ability to understand and interpret bank statements.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
