Become a Social Media Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. As a member of Corporate Communications & Philanthropy’s Social Media team, you will lead social engagement, including planning and resource support, for critical customer facing programs as well as situations and events that could have significant reputational outcomes for the company. You will be responsible for ensuring a consistent voice, tone, and look and feel of organic and paid content published on all of our SCE-branded channels.

In this role you will jointly manage a portfolio of paid social campaigns, including recommending scope and strategies on all facets of paid social (targeting, budget, timeline, etc.) and overseeing the development of creative and the execution of social media campaigns that will inform and resonate with customers and other stakeholders, including traditional media outlets.

As part of the social media team, you will work closely with other team members and collaborate with a variety of partners in Corporate Communications & Philanthropy, Corporate Affairs, Customer Service, Human Resources, as well as our agency partners to communicate in one voice and meet communications and public policies goals.

  • Lead, manage, design and execute social media plans, to support the company’s safety, wildfire and philanthropy initiatives as well as policy advocacy.
  • Provide consulting to different internal business partners on the use of digital media, and provide strategic guidance on campaign planning and the production of creative assets
  • Produce quarterly and annual social reports that are shared with the social stakeholders, including executives, throughout the company.
  • Lead the oversight of Nextdoor which has broad usage across the company. This includes defining its application as the company’s most hyper-local channel for reaching customers with critical communications and training and governance for multiple users.
  • This position will also be expected to support crisis communications activities and serve as part of the on-call social media team to support company communications outside of “traditional” business hours.
Qualifications


The essentials

  • Seven or more years of experience managing social media for a brand/company, either in-house or for an agency.
  • Experience and proven success with paid and organic social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Reddit, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements within a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Experienced in communicating across different levels of the company such as customers, clients, colleagues and executives.
  • Strategic problem solver; self-starter; high degree of creativity to find new ways to achieve team goals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using Sprout Social.
  • Fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, Korean or Vietnamese.

You should know …

  • Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
