Job Purpose:
Provide transportation to customers by renting automobiles.

Duties:

* Clean, inspect or prepare vehicles for the rental.

* Determines type of automobile and features desired by interviewing customer; reviewing automobile type pricing categories; suggesting special promotions; promoting higher-priced rentals.

* Determines return location and length of rental by entering pick-up, return location, and number of days or other time frame required.

* Quotes cost of rental by calculating type of automobile, daily rates, estimated mileage, and insurance coverages.

* Validates customer identification and rental eligibility by examining customer's driver's license and entering credit card.

* Completes rental contract by explaining rental policies and procedures; verifying credit; obtaining customer signature and deposit.

* Requests rental car delivery to customer service area by calling storage or service area; verifying automobile availability; directing customer to pick-up area.

* Completes rental car return transactions by computing rental charges; adjusting charges for fuel and/or damages.

* Reconciles rental charges by verifying rental agreements with receipts; forwarding to manager.

* Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

* Enhances rental car company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
