The Role

OBMedia is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will be working closely with the Development, Operations and Analysis teams on an AWS-hosted application to ensure the environment is built, configured, managed, and monitored best to support our growing business. This role is tasked with managing an Infrastructure as Code environment, scoping resources, troubleshooting performance issues and assuring the highest level of reliability for the platform.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Assist with services and software systems delivery using Git, Terraform, Jenkins and other tools

• Manage and maintain overall site availability, latency, and system health with a strong focus on infrastructure as code

• Assist with Kubernetes cluster management

• Manage and maintain CI pipelines using Jenkins

• Monitor submitted tickets; field, assign, escalate and communicate via Jira and Slack workflows

• Monitor environments and improve alert strategies using Newrelic and Opsgenie

• Perform vulnerability remediation, scanning and security event response using Tenable and other tools

• Create and manage Amazon and cloud hosted infrastructure using Terraform

• Respond to alarms and outages on an on-call rotation

• Work closely with the development and management teams to ensure best practices around security and compliance

Skills & Background

• Excellent understanding of Git workflows and best practices around branching, PR management and code review

• Excellent experience with Python, SQL and Bash

• 10+ years experience supporting enterprise computing platforms and systems

• 5+ years running production systems on AWS.

• Certified AWS Administrator or relevant experience preferred

• Excellent experience and understanding of Terraform framework and best practices

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience managing MySQL, Athena or similar databases in RDS

• Experience with Tenable Cloud, New Relic, EKS and the AWS service environment a plus

• Airflow, Spark/DataBricks, Snowflake, and/or Redis experience a plus
