  • Responsible for all aspects of American's Purser Program. Works across the Flight Service organization toensure that the 3,000 Pursers have the training, resources, and engagement necessary to provideoutstanding onboard leadership to our flight attendants and exceptional service to our customers.
  • This role is a part of the Purser Team within our Flight Service group.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Purser Program
  • Oversees the curriculum and coordination of all Initial Purser Training
  • Manages Purser Leadership Conferences and Purser Business Meetings
  • Coordinates and facilitates Purser Advisory Council (PAC)
  • Engages Pursers through development and collaboration opportunities
  • Administers the Assessment program for new Pursers
  • Documents, processes and maintains paperwork for Purser candidates
  • Collaborates on contractual issues related to Pursers with Labor, Legal, People Business Partners, and Flight Service Representatives
  • Promotes and participates in UNICEF Champions for Children events, field visits, monthly conference calls and in-person meetings
  • Some travel required
  • Ability to work some weekends and extended hours

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3+ years of Flight Service experience or relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Pursuer qualification
  • Training and facilitation experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and spoken presentation
  • Effective organizational, project planning, and management skills
  • Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with sound judgment
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, complete projects on time and perform under pressure and respond to changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
