Are you looking for an opportunity to use your skills in a variety of specialty areas? Come join us! As a Security Specialist III, you will be responsible for facilitating
administrative security processes such as personnel security, incoming visitor coordination, badging activities, and other general security customer service activities. You'll manage classified material and document control activities, control Communication Security materials, administer local physical security systems, and conduct inventories of classified holdings. In addition, you will assist in the development and implementation of security practices to maintain compliance with security regulations, develop and implement security awareness education and training, assist with the Security Clearance process for employees, and participate in security self-assessment initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Initiate clearance actions, program accesses and visit requests for Sierra Space employees as required; support post-offer security screening process
  • Maintain SIMS, the corporate security system, which holds records of classified activity
  • Receive and dispatch classified material and serve as the classified document control coordinator; conduct inventories of classified holdings
  • Provide Security briefings and training to new employees, and participate in corporate-wide security education program
  • Maintain company keys and logs
  • Make and distribute company identification badges
  • Coordinator for Security/Safety publication (location specific)
  • Function as COMSEC custodian for classified account and provide oversight for unclassified account (location specific)
  • Serve as CSSO or Alternate CSSO for SCI activities (location specific)
  • Provide facility support such as vendor and property management liaison, furniture procurement, etc. (location specific)
  • Support the Director of Security on special tasks as assigned to include the stand up of administrative records for newly cleared locations
Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Relevant work experience may substitute for required education.
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Strong verbal and electronic communication skills
  • General understanding of security regulations and best practice
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of 32 CFR 117: National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM)
  • Previous experience with access control/visit control/badge management systems and software
  • Military or Defense Contractor experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
