Feta Sanitation

Department: Feta Job Status: Full Time

Reports To: Feta Team Leader Classification: Class C

Work Schedule: Normal work week consists of five 8 hour shifts with some 12 hour shifts as needed for production. Overtime after 40 hours.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Feta Sanitation position consists of working in the Feta department and supporting nightly sanitation duties on the line. When on the sanitation shift this includes performing daily sanitation with chemical handling, tear down and set up to ensure food safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Clean all Feta equipment on a nightly basis (3rd shift)
• Assist with set up duties including the staging of ingredients and materials
• Move pallets of cheese and empty cheese tubs in and out of the staging areas
• Understand the departmental machines including how to operate, how to tear down, how to set up
• Inspect equipment at start up for pre-operation.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Feta Team Leader/Manager or line tech.
• Familiar with Quality programs as outlined in QRMP such as GMP’s, Traceability, HACCP, Allergens, CCP, hold process and verifying raw ingredients.
• Observes all Safety, Environmental Regulations, Accident Prevention Procedures, Food Safety Procedure and GMP’s.
• Help train other employees when proficient

High school diploma or GED

Previous manufacturing or sanitation experience

Previous food manufacturing a plus

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be able to do basic math, communicate effectively, and read and write proficiently. Mechanical aptitude is helpful. Must complete the following training requirements/evaluation (30-60-90 Reviews): Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Certified Training, and other training courses as required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited direct supervision. Must be able to perform computer data entry, including SAP.

Other Requirements

Must be certified to operate hand truck; operate various process equipment; operate computer for software applications, calculator, telephone.
