KIT Custom HomeBuilders is hiring for a full-time Safety Director at our production facility in Caldwell, Idaho.

This is a full-time, exempt position with Monday through Friday hours and occasional Saturday hours as needed. Salary is from $75,000 annually and up, dependent on qualifications and experience. The Safety Director position also receives a quarterly profit-sharing bonus.

This position includes a full benefit package including vacation pay, medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(K) with matching.

Responsibilities: The Safety Director is responsible for developing safety polices, monitoring all health and safety incidents, and ensuring overall safety for a workforce of 260+ employees. Additionally, must ensure the workplace follows OSHA and other state, local, and industry specific regulations and perform periodic safety audits and reporting. A minimum of 50% of the Safety Director’s time is to be spent in the production areas.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, education, and overall strategic management of all programs which include safety orientation, skill training, emergency preparedness, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of relevant Safety management experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to gain the trust of staff & management with a collaborative & consensus-building work style.
• Professional work ethic and ability to carry out function without supervision.
• Mindset to approach safety duties with balanced respect for compliance and business needs.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Certification in related occupational safety field as well as safety credentials is preferred. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associated Safety Professional is a plus.
• Requires daily walking and working in a production environment at least 50% of the time. Must occasionally climb, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requires PPE to be worn at all times.
