Mechano-Therapeutics LLC is recruiting for a Research Associate/Technician to join our rapidly growing team. Mechano-Therapeutics is an early-stage biotech company spun out of the University of Pennsylvania. The mission of Mechano-Therapeutics is to offer a tunable drug delivery platform that responds to mechanical forces within the human body to deliver therapeutics. The technology platform encapsulates therapeutics in mechano-activated microcapsules (MAMCs), allowing for targeted and controlled local release.

Our team consists of scientists and engineers with extensive experience in orthopedic research and biomaterials science. We are passionate about advancing drug delivery for improving musculoskeletal health and orthopedic-related conditions. We are currently looking for a motivated individual with a desire to lead our lab operations at the Pennovation Center. Specifically, we are looking for an individual with basic science research expertise working with cell and tissue cultures, biochemical and molecular testing. We are dedicated to finding the right person for this unique opportunity; therefore we are open to both part time and full time positions.

Responsibilities

· Manage ongoing in vitro and ex vivo experiments

· Conduct molecular, cell and tissue culture experiments and bioassays

· Analyze and interpret experimental results

· Maintain supply inventory

· Participate in scientific report and grant writing

Qualifications

· Education: B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in related field (Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering)

· Prior research experience

· Prior experience working with cell and tissue culture procedures, animal models, bioassays, ELISA, PCR, and confocal and fluorescence microscopy, Luminex platform assays.

· Interest in working in a rapidly growing start-up environment

· US citizen or green card holder

Compensation

· Hourly pay – part time

· Salary – full time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
