Onsite: Monday to Friday initially, hybrid later
Rate: 22.60/hr
The Injury Surveillance Program seeks a part-time Research Analyst/Data Abstractor to assist in the operation of the State’s Weapon Related Injury Surveillance System (WRISS). WRISS collects information on all gunshot wounds and assault-related sharp instrument wounds treated in emergency departments. Data are entered into an ACCESS database. The responsibilities of the Research Analyst/Data Abstractor will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work with a variety of data providers to collect, analyze and disseminate confidential information related to weapon-related injuries in a professional manner
- Provide research and administrative support to the Program Director
- Work with a variety of data providers to facilitate timely data transfer
- Abstract, code, and enter data using program protocols
- Assist with analysis and preparation of reports and presentations
- Assist with meetings and preparation of meeting notes
- Assist with responses to data requests
- Maintain all case and program files
- Conduct quality reviews of data and case files
- Any other duties as assigned
This position will involve use of confidential data, and the incumbent will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Initially, the days in the office may need to align with the days of other staff in order to perform the necessary training, but after they are trained they can choose the 2 days they go into the office.
