Essential Functions:

Develops and leads a preventive Quality Management System to assure all manufacturing processes produce products that meet the required standards. Demonstrates a commitment to EH&S practices, employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

1. In co-ordination with the Quality Director, supervise the process to understand, update, manage and implement the QMS documentation (quality manual, procedures, instructions, internal standards, etc.) in accordance with IATF 16949.

2. Ensures that the processes necessary for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained.

3. Communicates customer requirement awareness throughout the organization.

4. Promptly manages customer complaints generated by the plant (8D), with particular reference to the analysis phase, root cause identification, implementation and verification of corrective actions.

5. Manages the plant quality department establishes and operates within the department budget, hires, trains, assigns work, and appraises performance.

6. Ensures implementation of Agrati Group standards

7. Implements procedures for inspection, disposition and record retention for incoming raw materials and components and reviews quality issues with vendors. Provides supplier surveillance assistance as required.

8. Maintains a system for calibrating all key inspection, gauging and process instruments. Approves purchase and repair of inspection and gauging equipment.

9. Tracks and reports quality KPI’s and verifies compliance with the objectives and drives improvement.

10. Assure internal processes and product audit activities.

11. Leads and promotes the quality assurance philosophy including preventive quality systems.

12. Be proactively involved in corrective action and problem-solving strategies. Collaborates with operations team on analysis and recommendations for improvements.

13. Supports continuous improvements in manufacturing processes and systems.

14. Actively pursues and identifies root causes of non-conformance and implements corrective actions.

15. Responsible for measurement of cost of non-conformance. Publishes regular reports and identified trends.

16. Interfaces with customers to identify requirements and plan proactively for corrective action and continuous improvement.

17. Leads all training efforts for all Agrati plant employees with regard to total preventive quality.

18. Provides, secures and maintains data collections and statistical systems to aid in process control, root cause problem identification.

19. Adheres to all company policies and procedures and supports all EH&S programs and procedures including ISO programs.

20. Assumes the role of Product Safety Officer (PSB).

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.

Prefer ASQC Quality Engineering Certification, lean manufacturing, and/or 6-Sigma training.

TS16949/VDA 6.3 knowledge required.

Experience and Background:

Minimum of five years experience with preventive quality systems plus five years of management level experience. Knowledge of principles and applications of statistical methods including statistical problem solving is required. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills are also required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee occasionally is required to walk, reach with hand and arms, stoop or kneel. Employee very seldom is required to climb, lift or carry. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 35 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· Assist and train other employees on safe job operations/procedures

· Know the work site hazards including ergonomic issues

· Report and/or correct unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to your team leader/supervisor/manager

· Maintain good housekeeping in their assigned area including immediately cleaning up spills or work materials and storing items properly

· Wear personal protective equipment required by established safety rules and regulations and supervisor’s instructions

· Attend EH & S meetings and programs

· Openly participate with behavior observations and utilize job safety analyses (JSA’s), safe work instructions (SWI’s)

· Achieve annual LWD and TRR goals

· Practice preventive maintenance

· Machine Operators: utilize all applicable machine guarding, lock out/tag out procedures and electrical safety requirements and ensure equipment is safe to operate
