Robert Half is actively looking to hire a skilled Accounting Clerk for a premier organization. The Accounting Clerk will chiefly be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity based in the Laguna Hills, California area.

Your responsibilities

• Post financial information to journals and ledgers
• Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
• Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
• Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
• Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
• Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
• Solid understanding of account analysis
• AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
• Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
• Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
• Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
