We are a very busy psychiatric and behavioral health practice located in Metro Detroit, Southfield, Michigan. Our office is conveniently located near the 696 highway. Our office treats a diverse population of clients across the lifespan. We follow a collaborative care model of treatment and care and work closely with the Medical Director, therapists, and other psychiatric nurse practitioners.

General Duties: To provide nursing care in accordance with the patient's psychiatric mental condition which includes assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the mental health needs of patients. PMHNPs provide therapy and prescribe medications for patients who have mental health disorders or substance abuse problems. They may also provide physical and psychosocial assessments, emergency psychiatric care and treatment effectiveness evaluations.

Responsibilities Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing service to the patient and family on an ongoing basis. Places orders to toxicology laboratories, blood analysis laboratories, and pharmacies Receives and analyzes results from laboratories Communicates laboratory results to a Physician/Psychologist/Psychiatrist Administer medications. Therapies, psychosocial activities to patients; Takes and records patient vital signs and present the patient's record to the Clinical Record Review Assesses patient symptoms regularly, reporting condition changes to a Physician/Psychologist/Psychiatrist if a change in care plan may be necessary Responds to medical emergencies Submit clinical notes no less often than weekly, and progress notes and other clinical record forms outlining the services rendered as indicated. Supervises patient monitoring station or delegates to other staff as necessary.

Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner specializing in the Psychiatric or any similar field

• Board Certification for Nurse Practitioner (PhD level PREFERRED)
• With national certification from the ANCC
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required
• Certification in First Aid required
• Commitment to a drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
• Authorization to work in the US is required
