The Role:
As the Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will create, develop and deploy new processes and equipment at McCain’s. You will collaborate with cross functional teams in a matrix organization to successfully launch projects, assist in transition and prepare the plant for project start up and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with both internal and external project and resource teams to drive projects from inception to launch
Communicate, coordinate, partner and influence outside vendors in development and delivery of new products, equipment and processes
Implementation of equipment and process – Manages priorities and activities of SuM team (Startup Management)
DFM – Design for manufacturing; Including Sanitary design
Standard operating procedures / general operating procedures
Total productive maintenance actives – AM’s/PM’s/ spare parts
CQV – Commission, qualification, and validation – work with technical services, maintenance and operations to
Works with training staff to develop detailed Technical Training and Turnover Plan
Support, manage, and facilitate continuous improvements
Develop and maintain project plans with detail timelines through collaboration with functional groups including Corporate Engineering, Technical Services, R&D, Quality, Safety, Operations, and Maintenance
Provide analysis, evaluation, and forecast of project costs and performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field
Project Management experience
Manufacturing experience in relation to food processing and packaging equipment
Above average computer software skills, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Excel
Detail oriented, able to creatively problem solve, and make decisions
Champion of Change
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral as well as read and interpret schedules related to production
Previous experiences that might be an asset in this role include the following titles: Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Civil Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Construction Manager
