Position Summary
PSM involves the management of significant quantities of Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs) to keep them contained and minimize consequences if containment is lost. As the PSM Consultant Assistant, you will learn the ins and outs by first supporting senior consultants in the preparation and maintenance of client-specific PSM and Risk Management plans. Over time, the position will evolve to include field work, such as conducting audits of client sites, preparing reports with findings, and providing compliance consultation. The ideal candidate has a keen attention to detail, embraces change, and has an eagerness to learn and grow with the position.
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organizational skills; general computer skills
- Quick learner adept at reading and comprehending complex material, such as regulations, codes, standards and programs; able to relay the information in a way that is understandable by diverse audiences
- Collaborative yet able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to foster relationships with clients, as you guide them through skilled management of their PSM and risk management programs
- Strong auditing skills; able to read and interpret plans and determine adherence to the plans
- A commitment to continuous improvement; efficient while maintaining a dedication to quality
- Education and/or experience with chemistry, refrigeration, mechanical equipment; hands-on work a plus
- A willingness to be mentored by industry expert consultants engaged in real-world scenarios
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and Zoom
- Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and cell phone required
Additional
Our work center is located in Seattle, Washington; and while this is a remote position, the candidate must be a resident of Washington State. Over time, the position will evolve to include travel/field work.
