Pre-Operative RN Job at Terrebonne General Medical Center
The RN is responsible to the Medical Director of Anesthesia and in accordance with the scope of practice according to LSBN. The RN, under the direction of the Anesthesiologist, will perform pre-operative evaluations including obtaining a history and physical and assess the current status of chronic medical problems to assist the Anesthesiologist to determine if the patient is at an optimal state for surgery. The RN will become educated in the appropriate management of the pre-operative patient. The RN will promote cost containment in a manner, which will not infringe on the quality of patient care The RN assures that the standards for the professional RN scope of practice in the clinical setting are maintained.
Qualifications
1. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana.
2. Pen-operative experience preferred
3. Decision making and problem-solving skills
4. Interpersonal/Human relation skills
