PHYSICAL THERAPIST (Part Time)

What You’ll Do
NPFE seeks a licensed physical therapist to support the vision and mission of the Muskegon Heights Public School Academy System (MHPSAS) by providing and coordinating physical therapy services to students assigned to their caseload, working directly with students according to their individualized needs and developing and tracking goals of the students while working collaboratively with other service providers.


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy
  • Michigan physical therapy license
  • Experience working with children with physical impairments


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducts physical therapy evaluations of suspected handicapped students or of special education students through the referral process
  • Provides and coordinates physical therapy services to students assigned to the caseload
  • Attends Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when requested
  • Develops individualized annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students in the caseload as per physicians' prescriptions
  • Maintains appropriate student records
  • Employs physical and mechanical treatment methods
  • Consults with staff, parents/guardians, physicians, and others regarding physical therapy services and adaptive equipment
  • Assists students with adaptive equipment needs
  • Consults, counsels and collaborates with parents, school personnel, students and appropriate community agencies regarding behavioral and educational concerns developed in a multi-tiered system of support
  • Drives to and from school sites to deliver physical therapy services
  • Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
