Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction of Physical Therapist treating patients with physical impairments through the use of interventions.
- Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner according to treatment plan of care.
- Instruct and counsel patients effectively in therapeutic exercises.
- Identify patient’s needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences.
- Communicate openly and effectively with supervising Physical Therapist any pertinent information concerning patient progress, concerns, presentation, and plans.
- Recommend options, courses of action or modifications in selected treatments ensuring patient’s progress, safety and comfort.
- Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury.
- Complete documentation and record treatment notes, progress notes, provide objective input for discharge summaries to support the delivery of physical therapy services. Complete daily billing of services per Therapy On Demand, LLC policy and procedures.
- Perform selected data collection and obtain accurate information.
- Measure performance and report on patient’s medical record.
- Participate in patient status judgments and plan of care meeting if asked to do so by supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Rehabilitation.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards.
- Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree is required.
- Current CPR card.
- Successful completion of a physical therapist assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, or both.
- Current PTA licensure in the state of Colorado with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies is required.
- Current Driver’s License, reliable transportation with valid and current automobile insurance coverage.
- 1 year of prior professional experience preferred.
- Experience with the geriatric and/or pediatric population preferred.
- Must be technologically savvy; hands-on experience with computer programs, internet knowledge is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate with others -both medically and general public.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, accept constructive criticism, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, stretching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Current knowledge of treatment practices and drive to continually learn and grow.
- Professional behavior.
- Passion and expertise for delivery of world-class therapy.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of prior professional experience; home health experience NOT required). Must hold a current PTA license in the state of Colorado. New graduates and all experience levels are strongly encouraged to apply.
