About the Role:

The Payroll Manager is accountable for reviewing the work product of assigned payroll employees, as well as providing training, coaching and other performance feedback to the team. They ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions, processing and reporting of certified payroll; payroll deductions; pay/benefit adjustments; federal/state/local withholding (including Forms 940 and 941); tax remittances; and oversight of the check run process. The Payroll Manager ensures timely and professional resolution of payroll issues.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 3-5 years of experience executing payroll processes and managing people (construction experience strongly preferred)
  • Comfortable in a high-volume environment (~1,000 checks weekly) in a multi-state, multi-entity business.
  • Certified payroll experience and related reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field (will substitute experience for education)
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to work effectively with other teams.
  • Remains positive and provides exceptional customer service in challenging situations; manages and resolves interpersonal conflict.
  • Effectively analyzes data to make decisions to meet business needs and deadlines, while anticipating and solving problems.
