The Payroll Manager will have the ultimate responsibility of managing payroll and benefits for 3 entities with a high level of comfort with payroll technology. Ensuring the payroll process runs timely and efficiently for bi-weekly payroll runs, management and reconciliation of benefits, payroll GL entries and reconciliations. Perform daily payroll and benefits needs. Regular review of processes and quickly jumping on any issues involving payroll and benefits. The right candidate will be someone who has a payroll background, experienced in the accounting side of payroll and benefits, and will take charge of this role. They will be an excellent team player with an eye for detail. They’ll have the ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining a friendly and professional composure. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Administration of payroll system for 3 entities, communication with system representatives, completion of requests needed for system, collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve any needs
  • Bi-Weekly payroll and all items related such as missed punches, PAFs, manual entries/corrections, data sets, check approvals, terminations, final checks, severance, retro payouts, garnishments, withholding orders, etc
  • Oversee benefit administration and reconciliation including 401k, medical, dental/vision, AD&D, HAS, and workman’s comp reporting
  • Process off-cycle payrolls as needed
  • Make accurate GL entries for items such as payroll, accruals, and benefits payments
  • Oversee payroll administration and accounting functions
  • Management of returned checks, approving IP addresses, STD or COBRA
  • · Participating in audits in coordination with HR to resolution
  • Maintain accounts, accounting practices, compliance, and inter-company reporting
  • Registering new tax accounts as needed when entering new jurisdictions
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, produce reporting as needed
  • Assist with calculating, tracking and paying bonuses, commissions and other associated compensation as needed
  • Consistent record keeping by saving of all reports, worksheets and correspondence
  • Manage associate employee for payroll and benefits (as needed)
  • Ad hoc projects to assist finance or HR
  • Proactively find ways over, around, and through barriers and challenges
  • Ability to problem solve with accuracy and detail

Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Comfortable understanding state laws and researching as needed
Highly organized with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Ability to identify and maintain confidential matters in all aspects of the business

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
