PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR- FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST
The Patient Care Coordinator is a crucial part of a medical practice. Ensuring patients have a positive experience starts with the front office team.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
· Ability to interact positively and professionally with others, flexible to adjust work schedule, communicate clearly, attention to detail and ability to cope with stressful situations.
· Has strong customer service and conveys a positive image of clinic.
· Able to work in a team environment and possesses excellent prioritization skills, flexibility and excellent telephone skills.
· Good oral and written communication with health team, patients and their families.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phones.
- Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using telephone etiquette.
- Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting patient detailed patient information including personal and financial information
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Schedules all incoming and outgoing patient/follow up appointments
- Responds to patients', prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner
- Keeps front office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs and monitoring office equipment
- Protects patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain site and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
- Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or graduation equivalency degree (GED). Associates degree preferred.
· Knowledge of office administrative processes and procedures, claims processing, preparing patient charts, and basic computer skills.
· Knowledge of OB/GYN clinical procedures, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology preferred.
· **Athena EMR a plus**
