Description

The Administrative Support is responsible for providing high level office support to include answering multi-line telephone, copying, scanning, filing, data entry, and handling incoming correspondence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is not an inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned
  • Be able to identify different types of hospital documentation including, but not limited to, medical records, UB-04s, EOBs, Itemized Bills, Hospital Account notes, appeal letters, and denial/approval letters.
  • Utilize technology to obtain work assignments and to communicate with other employees in a clear and concise manner.
  • Combine office documentation with existing files to assure there is no loose documentation in the file room or office.
  • Utilize provider systems to obtain necessary documentation for case files based on requests from employees.
  • Perform general office duties such as typing, scanning, operating office machines, and sorting documentation.
  • Identify and communicate appeal deadlines to appropriate staff.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for streamlining processes and cost control measures
  • Open, scan and upload incoming correspondence and documentation to Appeals Platform within 24 hours of receipt.
    • Follow-ups must be given to appropriate employee working the file in accordance with office mail handling policy.
  • Handle rush and high balance cases in accordance with office policy.
  • Meet productivity metrics as defined by Supervisors
  • Assist with projects as assigned.
  • Follow all HIPAA guidelines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School degree with one to two years office experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Associates or technical degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
