Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

• Provide group music therapy to all classrooms at least once per day
• Conduct music therapy assessments for referred students in an effort to develop a caseload for individual music therapy
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to develop music therapy treatment goals, based on the student’s IEP
• Complete session notes following individual music therapy sessions
• Develop quarterly progress reports for students on individual music therapy caseload (November, February, May and August) to assess each student’s progress toward their social/emotional goals
• Write annual review reports for each student on individual music therapy caseload and update goals as needed
• Initiate contact with families of students on individual caseload as well as the other members of the treatment team at HeartShare to ensure ongoing communication regarding the student’s progress
• Execute job responsibilities in accordance with the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and HeartShare’s Vision Statement

Job Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Music Therapy
• NYS Licensed Music Therapist
• Candidates should have an understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• They will be trained on Behavior Management and Physical Interventions.
• Candidates should be flexible with their schedules and be able to meet all paperwork deadlines.
• They should be able to collaborate with all staff and participate in school-wide events, meetings, and PBIS.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
