Education/Experience: High school diploma required. Pre-health career track preferred. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy strongly preferred.
Technical/Computer Skills: Skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs; minimum of 60 WPM preferred.

Seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with a Primary Care background. Excellent communication skills are necessary. Quality Health Care and Wellness institute is a thriving practice that provides advanced Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Bariatric Medicine, and is a Wellness Center. Electronic Medical Records experience is a requirement and candidates with E-Clinical experience will be preferred.
The medical assistant is responsible for obtaining and documenting patient history and vital signs, performing assigned procedures, and providing patient education. Medical Assistant will accompany the provider in the room and document clinical notes, laboratory results, prescription refills, procedures, billing information, and any other documentation as directed by the provider.
An ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience working as a Medical Assistant. Certified Medical Assistant is a plus but not required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs routine laboratory tests.
- Prepares treatment room for examination of patient.
- Assists with physical examinations by preparing supplies, and handing instruments and materials to the doctor as directed.
- Provides patients with basic instruction regarding examination procedures.
- Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments while observing principles of sterile technique.
- Accompany the provider in the room during the patient visit. Scribe document to include: the history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam findings, diagnostic assessment, and plan of care.
- Refill any patient prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- Enter orders for procedures or labs as directed by the provider.
- Enter billing information as determined by the type of office visit.
- Coordinate multiple projects and patients and solve problems under pressure.
- Assess patient needs and suggests solutions to patient care problems.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Responsible for reporting improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to the supervisor.
- Responsible for following OSHA regulations. Regularly interacts with physicians and other departments in order to identify and resolve problems.
- Maintains patient, employee, and clinic confidentiality
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to tolerate viewing on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
- Ability to learn and appropriately apply basic medical terminologies and techniques taught
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to observe and to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently, in grammatically-correct
- Ability to spell proofread and edit written
- Keyboard proficiency (approximately 60 words/minute).
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software applications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that routinely involves dealing with highly-sensitive personal medical.
- Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
