Busy pet care business is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Marketing & Social Media Specialist with a love for all things furry and a creative eye for storytelling to plan, develop and implement social media content that delights, engages and expands our audience.

This is a part-time position, working approximately 20 hours per week.

Job Description

  • Build a range of engaging social media content (e.g., videos, photos, key messages) across the major social media accounts.
  • Create, write/edit, schedule, and publish daily posts on platforms including, but not limited to,Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and NextDoor.
  • Develop a strategy to capture photo and video submissions from team members and clients.
  • Organize, edit, and manage photos and videos library for social media purposes.
  • Analyze and assess performance across social media channels. This includes performance of individual posts and content to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and impact. Prepare consistent reporting and analysis to track social performance.
  • Create and manage content calendar to ensure posts are effectively and strategically executed.
  • Provide real-time social media monitoring of comments on platforms and develop strategy for replying.
  • Create Facebook group to engage existing and past Dog Training clients with new content and ongoing education.
  • Plan, create, and execute paid social media ad campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and NextDoor platforms.

Required Skills and Education

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing social media on behalf of an organization.
  • BS or BA degree required in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience using and managing various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.
  • Demonstrated track record of creating original social media content with images or videos. (Must have a portfolio or content to provide for review.)
  • Adept with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of video editing basics and using Adobe Premiere, iMovie or other in-app tools.
  • Must be energetic self-starter to work independently to achieve desired results and goals
  • Strong visual skills and creative eye for digital content.
  • Demonstrated track record of creating high quality and impactful social media content
  • Enthusiastic team player and collaborator.
  • Creative thinker and strategist, willing and able to bring new ideas
  • Passion for dogs, cats and animals!

Special Considerations:

Flexibility to occasionally work off hours and weekends for special events

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
