This is a Direct Hire Public Notice, under this recruitment, applications will be accepted for each location and/or installation identified in this Public Notice and selections are made for vacancies as they occur. This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L. 116-92 and Section 9905 of Title 5, U.S.C. This Public Notice is to gather applications which may or may not result in a referral or selection. This announcement will be used to fill full-time internship positions during the entire 2023 academic year.

As a Management Analyst, GS-343-09, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

  • Conduct management studies/analyses of mission, organizations, functions, work processes, methods, procedures, and other related criteria to clarify, appraise, refine, alter, or improve present management applications and practices within the various segments of the agency.
  • Participates in the review and evaluation of organization structures and mission proposals/requirements by collecting and evaluating data and researching directives for consistency and accuracy.
  • Carry out special projects and participate in special initiatives and studies. Perform special assignments in support of the organization.

Qualifications

Internship Eligibility Requirements:
Current Post-Secondary student meaning an individual who is currently enrolled in, and in good academic standing at a full-time program at an institution of higher education, is making satisfactory progress toward receipt of a baccalaureate or graduate degree; and has completed at least one year of the program.
Students enrolled (must provide academic transcripts) in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges) advanced degree programs.
Note: You must provide sufficient transcripts and a proof of enrollment that reflects your current enrollment and a verification of Spring, 2023 enrollment.
Applicants will be selected at the 09 level. The target grade of this position is GS-09.

You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
Have one year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-07) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in 1) Conducting management studies/analyses of mission, organizations, functions, work processes, methods, procedures, and other related criteria to clarify, appraise, refine, alter, or improve present management applications and practices within the various segments of an organization. 2) Supporting management in studies by using established techniques to collect process information, verify and validate models, collect data, and prepare presentation materials.

OR
Possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. Transcripts are required at the time of application;

OR

Have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and have at least one year of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required two years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
