Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all physical plant systems. Reports directly to the Assistant Field Superintendent, Buildings and Grounds. This position requires a person with multi-craft skills. This position requires climbing ladders, working on rooftops, working in confined spaces and other physically demanding duties. This position requires physical mobility, manual dexterity, and ability to lift at least 70 lbs.

Job Duties
1. Work under the direction of the Assistant Field Superintendent.
2. Perform all duties assigned in a timely manner while observing and utilizing proper equipment (safety glasses, gloves, caution tape/tags, etc.).
3. Be accountable for all tools, equipment and supplies issued.
4. Submit work orders upon completion of tasks with any discrepancies noted.
5. Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other vendors on campus systems as needed.
6. Read blueprints, schematics, and charts.
7. Help resolve problems and perform general maintenance in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, painting, etc.
8. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
9. Work with all other Maintenance personnel as assigned.
10. Work on weekends, holidays, evenings/nights, and all other hours as assigned.
11. Improve skill level and performance through employee development annually.
12.. Perform additional duties as directed by the Superintendent of Physical Plant.

Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) High School diploma or High School Equivalency.
(M2) Minimum of two years of recent experience in a maintenance related field.
(M3) Experience In one or more of the following maintenance areas: plumbing, electrical, HVAC and refrigeration, carpentry, painting.
(M4) Ability to communicate effectively with college personnel at all levels.

Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Experience working with a computerized energy management system.
(D2) Industry recognized certification In a maintenance related field or vocational/Industrial training.
(D3) Proficient in computer operations and using email.
(D4) Experience using facility management/work-order software.
