Title: Behavioral Health Service Coordinator MA/CMA/RMA

Duties: The position of Behavioral Health Service Coordinator MA/CMA/RMA has the primary function of linking patients into Behavioral Health (BH) services as well as supporting the clinics with increased access to timely care. This position directly supports the BH clinicians (LPC’s, psychiatry) conducting case management activities, behavioral health maintenance, crisis management, and linking patients with resources in the community. It is the primary purpose of HealthPoint to provide the highest quality of total care possible to the patient population that it serves. Such a level of quality depends ultimately on the staff’s desire and ability to work together, individually, and as a team. The employee is expected to translate for non-Spanish speaking providers, to be professional, punctual, maintain regular attendance, be team-oriented, and cooperative. A successful BH Service Coordinator MA/CMA/RMA must my psychologically minded, possess strong communication skills, and possess problem management strategies. He or she must also be organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable of the scope of mental health services available within the Brazos Valley.
Education:
Required:
- MA: Successful completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant Training Program or 6 months commensurate work experience as a Medical Assistant in healthcare setting.
- CMA/RMA: Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- CMA/RMA: Certification Completion as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
Preferred:
- MA/CMA/RMA: Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Work Experience:
- MA Required: 1-3 months of related experience if completed Program; 6 months if did not complete program.
- CMA/RMA Required: 1-3 months of related experience
- MA/CMA/RMA Preferred: 3-6 months of related experience
Licenses, Certificates or Registration:
CMA/RMA Required:
- CPR Certification, Current Certification or Registration as a Certified Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA); Must possess a valid state Driver's license and automobile insurance with reliable transportation.
MA Required:
- Proof of certificate of completion from the Medical Assistant Training Program or if commensurate work experience must have copy of High School Diploma or GED; Current CPR Certification; Must possess valid sate Driver's license and automobile insurance with reliable transportation.
