Position Purpose
To provide coverage of the Vail and Borwell Loading Dock, including service to the Medical School employees, and DMS Facilities, under the general supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

Description
Upon arrival of equipment at dock, determines owner, contacts them and informs them of procedures for uncrating and delivery, obtains chart string and submits information to appropriate Geisel personnel for work order preparation. Collects wooden pallets, crates and other wooden packing material and store in satisfactory area for convenient pickup by others. Notifies appropriate DHMC personnel of requested pickup when volume reaches level near capacity.

Description
Receives, inspects, logs and delivers all packages received, including UPS, Airborne/DHL, FedEx, Central Stores and other sources. Coordinates with the ARC and Environmental Health and Safety for receipt of special shipments respectively. Follows guidelines for handling of controlled substance packages.

Description
Carries out lab coat laundering program through collection of outgoing soiled coats, distribution of cleaned coats, maintaining inventory records for outgoing and incoming coats, and punctually delivering invoices to appropriate DMS Facilities personnel. Communicates with driver regarding any issues to arise with the program.

Description
Maintains cleanliness of dock area. Collects and properly recycle or dispose of all cardboard, strapping and packing material left at dock.

Maintains cleanliness and reasonable volume of materials in recycling area. Properly distributes collected recyclable materials to designated recycle areas as per the Geisel and DHMC recycling procedures.

Supports Facilities office on both campuses and performs general tasks when required such as furniture/equipment moving, minor carpentry, etc.

Keeps updated list of staff at Rubin, Vail, Remsen, Dana and Borwell, etc. with their locations and telephone numbers to improve delivery process.
