The Design Assistant practices is expected to execute the following: site planning, landscape design, and graphic and technical production. The Design Assistant works with the design team and assists in any manner needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Executes design related tasks such as measure, base maps, render, ordinance research, technical deliverables, and administrative assignments.
• Independently develops and advance project objectives based on supervision by Design team.
• Accompanies Design team at project meetings and public meetings.
• Prepares of site design and construction documents.
• Coordinates with other team members and suppliers to determine project details and scope.
• Designs functional outdoor spaces.
• Gathers property measurements.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with landscape design software, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Structure Studios and Illustrator preferred.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and related office software.
• Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Design/build experience is not required.
• Degree in Landscape Design/Architecture preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop or kneel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the Louisiana Driver’s License requirements.

Job Conditions:

The work environment is an office setting and a landscaping project job site located primarily at residential properties. The position requires the use of a variety of computer equipment and other general office equipment. While visiting job sites the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
