Description

SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Tester to support the CADPAD Virtual Fleet Support (VFS) Program for Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD) in their office in California, Maryland. The VFS program supports programmatic and information technology (IT) support for total life-cycle VFS management for the various aircrew escape systems managed under the Joint Program Office (JPO) for the CAD/PAD Tri-Service Charter.

The Junior Software Tester will need to be detailed-oriented, well organized, and a problem solver. The Junior Software Tester will work with various internal teams so effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork is essential for success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and executes test plans and test cases, to ensure that all information systems products and services meet customer specifications and end-user requirements.
• Performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
• Performs verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environment.
• Documents and communicates test results in Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or GitLab.
• Supports analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Documents and works to resolve all complex problems.
• Reports progress on problem resolution to management.
• Produces Software Test Plans and Software Test Reports for each Sprint completed.
• Assists with quality assurance activities including bug documentation, Source Code Management System (SCMS) documentation accuracy, and work product time accounting.
• Responsible for definition, documentation, and execution of all test plans necessary to ensure the release of a fully validated source code.
• Maintains structured testing methodology, including the use of automation; create and maintain test matrices; and actively participate in Agile development methodologies.
• Conducts demonstrations of test cases with customer subject matter experts.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and zero (0) years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree and two (2) years of relevant experience.

Required Security Clearance:

• Must have an active Secret security clearance prior to employment; must be a U.S. citizen.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Tools.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

• International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certified Tester-Foundation Level (CTFL) certification is a plus!
• Experience with Agile Workflow Testing.
• Experience with Automated Testing.
• Gitlab experience.
