POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Human Resources Business Partner provides vital support to one of Aleut Federal’s ever-growing portfolio of projects. In this role you will primarily support a program within one of Aleut Federal’s four diverse business lines. You will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management, formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to the Aleut Federal team that directly affects our business and employees. The Junior HR Business Partner must have excellent communication skills, broad knowledge of labor laws, HR compliance for government contractors, and an enthusiasm to be a part of the Aleut Team

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Conducts regular meetings with respective project and program managers.

· Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.

· Analyzes trends and metrics within assigned program to develop and implement initiatives and policies, working in conjunction with Senior HR Business Partners to ensure consistency across the organization.

· Conducts and resolves employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations and present the findings to the Senior HRBP for review.

· Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

· Monitors daily timekeeping and attendance, preparing reports for submittal as required.

· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

· Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

· Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.

· Identifies training needs for programs and individual management coaching needs.

· Partners with the other departments to ensure programs and initiatives are implemented wholistically.

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

· Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

· Relevant work experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.

EXPERIENCE

· 3 to 5 years of experience in the human resources field

· Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including but not limited to compensation practices, organizational assessment, diversity and inclusion, performance management, employee relations, and federal and state employment laws.

· Labor relations/collective bargaining experience strongly preferred.

· Experience in government contracting preferred

· Willingness to obtain a certification through SHRM or HRCI is preferred.

· Flexibility/Adaptability – Able to cope and adjust with the inevitable disruptions to the best laid plans of mice and men.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening.

· Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense base pass.

Position is onsite at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
