Heartland Behavioral Health Services has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in both acute as well as residential programs for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. The Intake/Admissions Coordinator will need the ability to manage a decision tree and crisis calls, ability to effectively gather clinical data to provide to the ACCESS Triage Nurse and Medical Staff. Ability to do an effective clinical assessment. Performs various duties related to working with families and referral sources for admissions processes. Supports various insurance and financial counseling functions related to ensuring financial payments and follow-up paperwork completion. Works on a rotating schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage in the Intake Department.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Communicate specific patient information through receiving and giving shift report including, but not limited to, patients diagnosis, treatment plan issues, specific behaviors, medical issues, special precautions.
• Make patient assignments taking into account staff capabilities and patient needs.
• Assesses each patient daily and documents in progress notes. Reviews flow sheet and documents behaviors noted.
