Haydan Consultants, Inc. is looking to hire an Inspector, (Queens & Manhattan), for the $8.5 Billion 7-year NYC Borough-Based Jail System Program. The program is comprised of the procurement, programming, design, and construction of four new borough-based jails. This program is managed by the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC).

As a Project Inspector, the applicant must possess excellent communication and team building skills and the ability to work independently, collaboratively, with full transparency, as required by the client/project.

 To inspect deconstruction work to ensure conformance with contract documents and all applicable codes and standards.
 Work includes preparation of daily narrative reports, time and material records, review requests for additional compensation, preparation of descriptions/reasons/estimates for change orders, verification of work in place quantities for contractor payment applications, coordination of construction work with facility operations and other stakeholders and ensuring the safety and quality of the work.

Preferred Skills:
 Experience with site preparation, excavation, site utilities, dismantling/demolition
 Experience with site documentation tools including but not limited to iPad, cellphone, laptop.
 Experience with the MS Office suite of database management tools, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and P6 project scheduling
 Proficiency in reading, writing English language; mathematical computations
 Ability to work in a fast-paced, occasionally stressful environment. Ability to work with individuals from varying nations, cultures, etc.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.

 8+ years’ experience in reviewing and interpreting plans and details, performing inspections, documenting conditions, reporting results, issuing nonconformance reports as needed and following up on issues to resolution.
 Experience on major demolition and/or construction projects for public agencies, such as NYCDDC, PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCSCA is preferred.
 OSHA 30 required. Other certifications may be helpful (please list)
 Excellent Organizational and communication skills required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
