What does Mold Set Up Technician do?

The following responsibilities will vary based on skill level and experience.

• Perform mold set up, and color changes to meet production demands.
• Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to identify defects.
• Set molding process parameters to ensure part quality.
• Troubleshoot process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime.
• Progress through leveled training to gain skill and knowledge and learn new technology as it is brought to manufacturing.
• Work with Supervisor and/or Lead Molding Technician to identify ways to improve productivity and reduce scrap, defects, etc.
• Work with Quality Inspectors to identify defects and make good decisions relative to process changes.
• Ability to sample new and existing molds.
• Keeps current with new technology in molding, auxiliary equipment, robots, etc.
• Perform Material Handler duties as assigned.
• Promote safety by abiding by all related policies and procedures and set a good example for others.
• Helps maintain 5S and cleanliness in the Plant by doing assigned cleaning tasks and set a good example for others.
• Potential to assume responsibilities of Supervisor or Foremen in their absence.

Compensation: $17.25-$28.00 BOE

Shift: 2nd 3rd shift M-F

Some Saturday OT required

2nd Shift 4:00 pm- 12:00 am

3rd Shift 12:00 am – 8:00 am

We want you to join the team if you can perform these essential job functions:

• Must be able to walk, stand, and work at a fast pace for 8 hours or more
• Frequently bend at the waist, twist, knell/ crouch, climb ladders and climb on up on machinery with proper fall protection.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift above waist up to 75 lbs. or more.
• Sometimes perform hand/wrist/ finger movements and foot movements for pedal controls of forklift.
• Occasionally perform keyboarding and squeezing movements.
• Frequently exposed to odors, dust and oil /grease.
• Must be able visually inspect work.
• Must be able to hear and communicate with all team members.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.
• Minimum education of High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must have plastic industry experience
• Computer proficient.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Must be able and interested in successfully progressing through leveled Molding Technician training curriculum.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math proficiency.
• Proficient in reading/writing.
• Computer proficient.
