What does an ILS Specialist do?
The Independent Living Services (ILS) Specialist provides life skills training to adults with developmental disabilities who reside in their family’s home or live on their own. Primary training takes place in the individual’s home and local community. The ILS Specialist uses the approved CISS ILS curriculum to effectively implement individualized services that support the person’s ability to attain new skills. It's an amazingly gratifying job to see the difference you are making in the person's life!
We have multiple immediate openings across the Ventura County area. Primary times staff is needed are mid-afternoon to evening. Some weekend support also available.
Eligible candidates must have a passion for helping others, a minimum of 2 years of direct care experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities OR have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education or a related field and 6 months of similar experience.
